What is Google Classroom?

A free, safe platform connecting your child with their teacher — lessons, assignments and feedback, all from your phone.

Watch Lessons Anytime

Teachers record short video lessons your child can watch at home, at whatever time suits your family. Videos stay available to rewatch.

Receive Assignments

Work and learning materials are posted in the app. You get an automatic notification the moment something new is available.

Submit Completed Work

Photograph your child's completed work and upload it in seconds. No printing or scanning needed — just your phone camera.

Receive Teacher Feedback

The teacher reviews the submitted work, leaves comments or marks, and sends it back — so you always know how your child is doing.

How a Lesson Works

The same simple process applies to every class — from the moment the teacher records a lesson to the moment feedback reaches you.

1
All Classes

Teacher records and posts the lesson

Your child's teacher records a short video lesson — 5 to 15 minutes — and posts it in Google Classroom with the day's task or worksheet. The video stays available to rewatch at any time.

All Classes

You receive a notification

The moment a new lesson is posted, you will receive an email notification. Open Google Classroom to find the video and the day's instructions.

Montessori Parents — Mont 1, 2 & 3

Watch together and do the activity with your child

Sit with your child, watch the lesson video together, and help them complete the hands-on activity — tracing, sorting, counting, colouring, or whatever the teacher has set. When done, take a clear photo of the completed work. Your involvement at this age makes all the difference.

3
Primary Parents — Class 1 to 5

Your child watches the lesson and completes the work

Your child watches the lesson and then completes the assigned work in their notebook, textbook, or on a worksheet. When finished, take a clear photo of the completed pages.

Submit the work through Google Classroom

Open the assignment in the app, tap Add Attachment, upload the photo, then tap Turn In. Done — the teacher is notified straight away.

Teacher reviews and sends feedback

Your child's teacher reviews the submitted work, adds an encouraging comment or grade, and clicks Return. You get a notification — open the assignment to read the feedback and celebrate your child's effort! 🌟

Parents Ask, We Answer

The questions we hear most from our parent community. If yours is not here, please reach out — we are always happy to help.

No — Google Classroom is completely free for all families. You only need a Google account for your child, which the school will provide or help you set up. There are no subscriptions or hidden charges.
A smartphone is all you need. Download the free Google Classroom app on any Android or iPhone and you can do everything — watch lessons, read assignments, upload photos, and read feedback. Most parents manage everything from their phone.
Not at all. For Montessori children (Mont 1, 2 and 3), parents manage Google Classroom completely. You watch the lesson with your child, help with the activity, photograph it, and submit on their behalf. Your child does not need to touch a phone or tablet independently.
All lesson videos stay available permanently, so your child can rewatch any lesson at any time. If you miss a deadline, simply submit as soon as you can and leave a short comment for the teacher. Our teachers are understanding and will always support your family.
Yes. The school account your child uses is fully managed by Heritage School and restricts access to school content only. Your child cannot browse the open internet through this account. Google Classroom is trusted by millions of schools worldwide and meets strict child safety standards.
You will receive an automatic email notification each time your child's teacher posts a new assignment or lesson. Make sure notifications are turned on in your Gmail or Google Classroom app. The school will also send a daily reminder through the class WhatsApp group.
Absolutely. The school is hosting a parent orientation session where we walk through every step together on your phone — no prior experience needed. Staff are also available in person during school hours if you need extra help at any time.
Your child can rewatch the video as many times as needed. If there is still confusion, leave a comment in the assignment or contact the teacher via WhatsApp. Teachers are available during school hours to answer questions from both students and parents.
Once the teacher reviews the work and clicks Return, you will receive an email notification. Open Google Classroom and go to that assignment to read the comment. For Classes 3 to 5, a grade or marks may also appear alongside the comment.
